Sightseeing extravagansa today! Lama Temple followed by the beautiful Summer Palace.

We were lucky enough to have someone with us who knows a bit about temples so we learnt how to use the incense and pray in the proper manner. Thanks Mark! We saw a lot of Buddha statues and span the lucky drum!

Before heading into the Summer Palace we went to a Chinese diner and had some amazing food. Our main courses were only RMB16 which equates to roughly £1.70! So tasty too!

The Summer Palace was huge!!! We spent hours walking around and going into the different buildings. And the views across the lake to the city were awesome! Needless to say we were pretty snap happy (watch this space for photos on the blog; we haven't quite worked out how to get them on here just yet)!

Rounding the day off nicely, we manged to book our sleeper train tickets to Xi'an for tomorrow at the train station. Panic had started to set in that there would be no tickets left because of the national holiday but our luck was in (spinning the lucky drum at the temple clearly paid off)!

We had hoped to go on a night tour of the city this evening but as it was raining, it was cancelled. So we resigned ourselves to some dumplings and a couple of beers in the bar instead!

Great day!

PS - we have named our mascot Patch

Wow, sounds amazing guys, you've done so much already! Was thinking of you in a work meeting the other day, we were given chop-sticks as we're working more with Asia-Pacific - might need some lessons when you get back!
Definitely need to see some photos, so get that sorted! Hope the luck from the drum-spinning sticks with you are your celebrity status continues!
Much love,
Len xxxx
